 AED Fundraising Programme

We are currently raising funds for the purchase of at least one, but possibly two AED units for our Mobile Command Unit, and our SAR hall.  These units would be ready for use on a search or practice site in the event that one of our SAR members, or any visiting public go into cardiac arrest.  The same would hold for the unit stored at the SAR Hall.

New Mobile Command Vehicle for Arrowsmith SAR

Our new Mobile Command Vehicle has arrived.  We took delivery of our new unit at the beginning of December.

Children's Outdoor Safety Program:

ASAR provides a free children's safety program called Hug-A-Tree. Hug-A-Tree is a program that is set-up to teach children 5-12 years of age, the basic survival skills they will need if they ever get lost in the woods. This program also teaches children some of the things they can do to ensure they don't get lost.

Hug-A-Tree is presented to Elementary Schools and other children's groups. The average audience of this programme is close to 2000 a year. The RCMP has some more information about the programme on their website: Hug a Tree link http://www.rcmp.ca/ccaps/hug_e.htm Part of the presentation is a coloring book which is available for download.
