 AED Fundraising Programme

We are currently raising funds for the purchase of at least one, but possibly two AED units for our Mobile Command Unit, and our SAR hall.  These units would be ready for use on a search or practice site in the event that one of our SAR members, or any visiting public go into cardiac arrest.  The same would hold for the unit stored at the SAR Hall.

New Mobile Command Vehicle for Arrowsmith SAR

Our new Mobile Command Vehicle has arrived.  We took delivery of our new unit at the beginning of December.

Go to our Truck page to see some pictures of the new unit.

Becoming a Ground Search and Rescue Team Member

(Please note:  Arrowsmith SAR is not actively recruiting new members, due to the overwhelming success of our last GSAR course.)

To become a GSAR Team Member:

  1. Contact the Training Officer and fill out a basic information sheet with your name, phone number, mailing address, and e-mail address. Click Here for basic information sheet
  2. You will be sent a "New Member Criminal Record Check Policy Information Sheet" that you will have to read, sign, and then date.
  3. Complete a Criminal Record Check.

Note: After completing the above you will be considered a Member In Training (MIT.) Once you are a MIT you will be able to attend most of the in-house training events. At the Search Managers discretion you may also be asked to assist with local searches.
  4. Complete a 70-80 hour GSAR course. Click here for course details

On completion of the Criminal Record Check, and the GSAR course, you will be considered a GSAR Team Member. As a Team Member you will have access to more training opportunities. You will be able to attend mutual aid calls to other SAR groups throughout BC. You will also be encouraged to take part in ongoing training, group fundraising, and community events.
