Arrowsmith Search & Rescue's rope team is capable of responding to incidents day or night,
365 days a year, in all weather conditions. The rope rescue team is made up of Rope Rescue Team Members and Rope Rescue Team Leaders who are certified through the Justice Institute (JI) of BC. The JI certification our Rope Team Members and Team Leaders hold is recognized Province wide. This means our rope team cab go to any other search and rescue group in BC and work seamlessly with their rope rescue team.
For our Rope Rescue Team Members and Team Leaders to keep their certifications valid they must acquire a minimum number of logged rope rescue training or operation hours each year.
Some of the duties of the rope team are:
- Supporting the Ground Search & Rescue Teams
- Conducting Stretcher Evacuations on Slopes
- Conducting 2 Rope Top Down Vertical Rope Rescues
