 AED Fundraising Programme

We are currently raising funds for the purchase of at least one, but possibly two AED units for our Mobile Command Unit, and our SAR hall.  These units would be ready for use on a search or practice site in the event that one of our SAR members, or any visiting public go into cardiac arrest.  The same would hold for the unit stored at the SAR Hall.

New Mobile Command Vehicle for Arrowsmith SAR

Our new Mobile Command Vehicle has arrived.  We took delivery of our new unit at the beginning of December.

Go to our Truck page to see some pictures of the new unit.

Arrowsmith Search & Rescue's rope team is capable of responding to incidents day or night, 365 days a year, in all weather conditions. The rope rescue team is made up of Rope Rescue Team Members and Rope Rescue Team Leaders who are certified through the Justice Institute (JI) of BC. The JI certification our Rope Team Members and Team Leaders hold is recognized Province wide. This means our rope team cab go to any other search and rescue group in BC and work seamlessly with their rope rescue team.

For our Rope Rescue Team Members and Team Leaders to keep their certifications valid they must acquire a minimum number of logged rope rescue training or operation hours each year.

Some of the duties of the rope team are:

  • Supporting the Ground Search & Rescue Teams
  • Conducting Stretcher Evacuations on Slopes
  • Conducting 2 Rope Top Down Vertical Rope Rescues

We hope that we have been able to answer some of the questions you might have about our rope team. If there is anything you are interesting in learning about our rope team that is not covered here, please visit the contact page and we would be happy to put you in contact with someone that can answer your questions.
